Panaji Police cracked Rs 9 lakh car breaking robbery from Panaji Church Square; two arrested

Panaji Police arrested two persons from Bethora-Ponda in connection with the car breaking robbery committed near Church Square in Panaji two days ago. Property worth Rs 9 lakh was stolen from a parked car belonging to tourist Shridhar Reddy from Hyderabad by breaking car glass.

Two accused persons – Nizamuddin Jalegar and Hyder Khan Natives of Karnataka and residing in Bethora have been arrested and property worth Rs 7 lakhs have been recovered from them. However, cash of rupees two lakhs is yet to be recovered from the culprits.

On 9th December, Panjim police registered a complaint Sridhar Reddy Puli (32) n/o Telangana that an unknown person/s has broken the quarter glass of left side back door of the car, which was parked in an open parking place in front of RV Tailors shop, near Panaji Church.

The combined efforts of PI Panaji and the LIB team yielded a breakthrough in the case. They meticulously analyzed CCTV footage around the crime scene, identifying a silver 1.20 car passing by and heading toward Church Square.

This pivotal discovery led PI Panaji PS and their team—comprising PSI Sanket S. Pokhare, HC 5151 Nitin Goankar, PC 5918 Ermiya Gurraya, PC 6492 Sayesh Uskaikar, PC 7816 Aditya Mardolkar, PC 6962 Sadanand Malik, Driver PC Vikas Naik, and PC driver Sonu Gawas—under the watchful supervision of SDPO Panaji, Shri Sudesh Naik, and SP North, Akshat Kaushal, to apprehend the suspects involved in the case. Additionally, they successfully recovered the stolen property.
