Pernem, Goa: Citizens in Pernem have become increasingly vocal in their opposition to the contentious zoning plan, deeming it a curse for the local community. They have voiced their determination to take to the streets and join hands with fellow residents in relentless protests unless the zoning plan is cancelled.

The residents have adamantly called for the denotification of the controversial Pernem zoning plan. They have argued that there are no legal provisions within the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act that would allow the plan to be kept in abeyance.

In addition to demanding the annulment of the zoning plan, the citizens have raised questions about the involvement of the Union Home Minister in the state's planning process. They've urged for the inclusion of the state's population in the planning process, aligning with the principles outlined in the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments.

As protests gain momentum, the community remains resolute in their call for action. The zoning plan continues to be a point of contention, highlighting the need for public participation and transparency in the planning of urban spaces.
