Have sailed for a cumulative period of at least 6 months between the ages of 55 and 60.

Submit the prescribed form with self-attested Xerox copies of CDC, ID proof, and other required documents.

Eligible Indian seafarers will receive a one-time financial assistance of Rs 25,000/-. Applications will be accepted from January 26, 2024, to January 25, 2025. Apply by post to Seafarers Welfare Fund Society, Mumbai.

2. Scheme for Spouses of Deceased Seafarers: Comprehensive Eligibility Criteria

The second scheme focuses on spouses of deceased seafarers, provided they meet specific eligibility criteria. Spouses must fill out the prescribed form and submit it with the required documents, including a declaration on stamp paper of Rs. 100/- stating that they have not remarried after the seafarer's demise.

The Goan Seamen Association of India (GSAI) has pledged to assist seafarers and widows in availing the benefits of the Scheme for Super Senior Seafarers. As a prominent association representing Goan seafarers, GSAI will guide and support eligible individuals in completing the necessary documentation and application process.

This collaborative effort ensures that seafarers and their widows can easily access the benefits they are entitled to under the Scheme for Super Senior Seafarers. GSAI's commitment reflects its dedication to the welfare and well-being of seafarers, especially those who have retired or are in their senior years.
