A heartbreaking incident occurred in Haryana as a child tragically lost his life after drinking paint thinner, mistaking it for water. Hakshan, a one-and-a-half-year-old, became unconscious due to excruciating stomach pain and passed away while being rushed to a hospital in Gurugram on Sunday.
The incident took place at Sohna's Kothada Raipur village, where Hakshan's family was attending a marriage ceremony. The ceremony was hosted in a house recently painted, with the thinner purchased at the time.
Hakshan, playing innocently, consumed the thinner, believing it to be water, leading to the fatal outcome. The child had accompanied his parents to Sohna from their residence in Jalalpur village, Palwal district.
Investigating Officer Dharmendra stated, "The child drank the thinner by mistake. We have lodged a report and taken action under 174 of the CRPC. The body has been handed over to his family after postmortem."
