In an unfortunate turn of events, Goa experienced two fatal accidents on Friday, each at a different location but coincidentally at the same time.
One incident occurred at the Panjim bus stand, where a woman was tragically crushed under a bus, leading to her immediate demise. The incident took place when the bus was taking its leave from the bus stand. Meanwhile, in Porvorim, a collision between a senior citizen couple travelling on their scooter and a truck opposite Mall-de-Goa resulted in the death of a female rider. The woman who was riding pillion, died on the spot while the man is seriously injured & shifted to hospital. As per the reports, the victims were identified as Mary D’souza and Jerome D’souza.
Both incidents took place in the morning, prompting immediate responses from local commuters and law enforcement authorities. These incidents mark the first two fatal accidents of February month 2024. Investigations by Panjim and Porvorim police are currently underway to determine the causes of the accidents.
