RAIA: Ambelim SC downed Betalbatim SC 2-0 to enter into the quarter-finals of 43rd Gold Silver Rolling Trophy inter-village football tournament organised by Navelim Sporting Club, at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Friday.
Both teams gave their best in the first half with Aniston Fernandes missing chances to score for Betalbatim SC in the 6th and 12th minute. Then Ashwin Pinto of Ambelim SC missed a chance to score in the 25th minute. It was a tricky move by Nial Cardozo after moving past couple of Betalbatim SC defenders took a diagonal shot which crashed into Betalbatim SC net in the 29th minute.
This move of Zeben Dias of Betalbatim SC should have netted in but his shot was pushed away to safety by Ambelim SC goalkeeper in the 36th minute. Soon Dylan Rodrigues of Betalbatim SC should have almost netted but his shot was denied by the goalpost of Ambelim SC in the 40th minute.
Velroy Rebello doubled the lead for Betalbatim SC in the 46th minute.
