SOLVA-RAIA: Curtorim Gymkhana blanked Goa Velha Sports Club 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Custodio Memorial football trophy, organised by Raia Sporting Club, at Raia village panchayat ground, on Saturday.
In the second minute, Vikranth Mangueshkar of Goa Velha took control of the ball from Franky Cabral and dribbled past a couple of Curtorim players and shot from close range but the Curtorim goalkeeper Johnson Bhagot was equal to the task.
A counter attack by Curtorim Gymkhana should have resulted in a goal but James Fernandes shot wide in the fourth minute.
Both tricky moves of Joliston Rebello and Allen Piexito Curtorim Gymkhana yielded results with two quick goals in the 20th and 30th minutes respectively.
Allen Piexito of Curtorim Gymkhana was declared man-of-the-match.
