CHANDOR: Curtorim Gymkhana pipped Fr Agnel YC, Paroda, 1-0 to book their place in the final of the 47th Chandor Seamen’s Rolling football tournament, organised by Chandor club played at Chandor football ground on Sunday.
In an exciting semi-final match, Aliston Fernandes opened the account for Curtorim in the 30th minute with a weak but rewarding shot which hoodwinked the Paroda Custodian Benzu Clemente. Curtorim led 1-0 at the breather.
The youthful Fr. Agnelo tried hard for an equalizer but luck seemed to evade them . Both teams missed a number of good chances. The most agonizing moment for Paroda who were on look out for parity, was when their left winger's power packed shot hit the crossbar and rebounded back into play, only to gift Paroda a corner.
Paroda fought valiantly but had to bow to concede the match to Curtorim.
Curtorim Gymkhana will now meet Chandor Club in the final on September 25.
