PANJIM: AIM Cricket Academy, Sawantwadi, emerged victorious in the Winter Cup Panchgani U-12 Leather Ball Cricket Tournament defeating Yashvi Cricket Academy, Pune, in a thrilling final played at Panchgani, Satara, recently.
The tournament featured four teams - Success Cricket Academy, Umbraj, Rising Star Cricket Academy, Mumbai; alongside the two finalists, AIM Cricket Academy and Yashvi Cricket Academy.
AIM Cricket Academy’s captain Darsh Sawant played a pivotal role in his team's journey to the final, steering them through tough matches. Sawant’s exceptional performances earned him two prestigious awards at the conclusion of the tournament - best batsman and best wicketkeeper.
A highlight of the journey was a crucial 94-run partnership between Sawant and Mayank Rawool, which significantly contributed to their success. Rawool scored 44 runs, while Sawant added 31 runs, helping to set a solid foundation for the team’s final push.
In addition, Tanmay Kalsulkar was honoured with the best bowler trophy, rounding off a successful tournament for the AIM Cricket Academy team.
