RAIA: Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda advanced to the finals of the 2nd Betalbatim Villagers Cup 2024, organised by Betalbatim Sports Club, by defeating Sporting Club of Davorlim, 3-0, at the Panchayat ground, Betalbatim, on Wednesday.
Don Bosco opened the scoring in the 5th minute as Wedly Barreto's left-footed strike crashed into the net. In the 23rd minute, Elroy Barreto doubled the lead with a neat placement for Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda. Sporting Club Davorlim’s William Niasso had a chance but sent his shot sailing over the crossbar. At half-time, DBO led 2-0.
After the resumption of play in the second half, both teams tried to take control of the game, with Davorlim missing opportunities to close the gap. In the last quarter, Davorlim was awarded a penalty, but Shail Imandar wasted the chance, shooting over the crossbar. DBO Fatorda then further extended their lead through Charles Miranda in the 55th minute to seal the game and book their place in the finals.
