Goa Police defeat Goa Press by 26 runs in friendly cricket match

PORVORIM: In a thrilling 20-over cricket encounter at the Goa Cricket Association ground, Porvorim, Goa Police emerged victorious over Goa Press by 26 runs in a friendly encounter.

Goa Police set a challenging target of 187 runs, finishing with 186/6 in their 20 overs. Despite a spirited chase led by Shailesh Zantye (53 runs) and a solid contribution from Prasad Patil (33 runs), Goa Press fell short, managing only 160/6 in their innings.

Sanchit Kandolkar was the standout performer for Goa Police, top-scoring with a vital 57 runs. His knock was the backbone of the team’s innings, helping them reach a competitive total. Goa Police’s bowlers, backed by solid fielding, were able to control the chase and restrict Goa Press from reaching the target.

With 186/6 on the board, Goa Police’s bowlers ensured that Goa Press could not get close to the target. Goa Press’ chase was hindered by tight bowling and fielding and despite valiant efforts from Zantye and Patil, they finished with 160/6, handing Goa Police a well-earned victory by 26 runs.

Senior officers namely Akshat Kaushal (SP North Crime), Omvir Singh (IGP), DGP Alok Kumar, Rahul Gupta (SP Cyber Crime, Crime Branch), DySP Vishwesh Karpe and Crime Branch PI Rahul Parab also showcased their cricketing skills in the match.
