RAIA: Guardian Angel SC defeated Sporting Club of Davorlim 6-5 via tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of Gold Silver inter-village football tournament played at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Tuesday.
The rain didn’t dampen the spirit of the spectators.
SC Davorlim through Micky Furtady should have netted but the goalkeeper of Guardian Angel SC was equal to the task in the fifth minute. It was Sahil Imandar who netted the first goal of the match for Sporting Club of Davorlim in the 19th minute.
As the match progressed in the second half, Cyril Dias of Guardian Angel SC equalised in the 51st minute. In the resultant tie-breaker, Guardian Angel SC proved to be the better shooters. The man-of-the-match was awarded to Cyril Dias of Guardian Angel SC by Gabby
