BENAULIM: St Sebastian Union Club, Benaulim registered a solitary goal win over Parish Youth Nuvem to move into the semi-finals of The 7th Sebastian Union Club football tournament organised by St Sebastian Union Club, Benaulim,  at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Wednesday.
Caven Ratos and Latif Shaikh missed early chances to score for Benaulim in the third and eighth minutes respectively.
Two minutes later, Parish Youth Nuvem’s Inacio Colaco’s long range shot failed to pop up into Benaulim net.
In the second half, Benaulim coach Cruz Rebello changed the game plan by getting Jozuan Cardozo and Aliston Fernandes and gave them the task of controlling the midfield and forward line and the plan worked as in the 45th minute, a tricky move by Jozuan and Aliston worked on a set piece.
A long ball was sent by Jozuan to Nicholas Rodrigues who after collecting the ball slammed a powerful left footer which crushed into Nuvem net  eventually this proved to be  the match winning goal.
St Sebastian Union Club, Benaulim will now meet SC Davorlim in the semi-final on August 2.
