RAIA: United Club of Benaulim scraped past Wilfred Leisure SC, Curtorim, 6-5 via tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of Navelim Villagers Union Trophy, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Tuesday.
Wilfred Leisure SC scored through Nalister Silveira in the 40th minute but the joy was short-lived as United Club of Benaulim equalised with the efforts of Samuel Fernandes in the 45th minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, UC Benaulim scored through Jozwan, Keegan, Faizal, Alejo and Osbourne. For Wilfred Leisure SC, Johnson, Gilbert, Ryan and Rhay were on target. UC Benaulim will now meet Dicarpale SC in the quarter-finals on November 6.
In another match, Canacona Sports and Cultural Club entered the semi-finals beating Guardian Angel SC, Curchorem, 2-0. Canacona SCC scored a brace through Chaitan Kompapant.
