RAIA: United Club Unjirim blanked Corjem Youth Club, 3-0, to enter the quarterfinals of 1st Caniza Peixoto Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Agxem Sports Club and played at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Tuesday.
In a exciting match, Unjirim Club showed urgency to score goals and hit the target in the 15th minute of the game by Floyd Antao, who's powerful left footer hit the side pole and went into the net.
Later, Aden of Corjem shot at goal from edge of the box deflected Unjirim defence and went for corner and at half time score remained 1-0 in favour of Unjirim.
Changing over Corjem’s Glen Roy and Gilbert tried hard to find equaliser but luck did not favour them and Unjirim scored another two goals. Floyd Antao completed his brace in the 40th minute and Dawson Sardinha scored from close range in the 35th minutes of play.
Gilbert of Corjem was awarded man-of-the-match by Agnelo Martin, Agxem Sports Club player.
