MANGESHI: Vihaan Tari and Krutika Aggarwal won the Mangirish Youth Club all-Goa U-9 State chess selection in the Open and girls category, respectively, organised by Ponda Taluka Chess Association, under auspices of Goa Chess Association at Wagle High School, Mangeshi.
Rishit Gawas bagged the 2nd place while Evan Antonio Telles got 3rd place in the open category. Prayank Gaonkar, Shrinay Naik, Shresth Ghonsekar, Aarav Nagueshkar, Aryan Naik, Snithik Sinari and Aarav Prabhudessai secured 4th to 10th places, respectively.
Shanvi Redkar won the 2nd place and Shinel Rodrigues got the 3rd place in girls category. Avani Sawaikar, Vania Dukle, Tvisha Dessai, Sidonia Dacunha, Shreesha Ghadi, Survi Keloskar and Drisha Ghonge secured 4th to 10th place, respectively.
Consolation prizes were awarded to Aarav Naik, Joash Cardozo, Viyomi Parab, Aaradhya Dessai, Tansh Gaude, Siaan Kerkar, Amaira Borkar and Prarthana Maujekar.
Damodar Naik (president, Mangirish Youth Club) was the chief guest for the prize distribution function. Also present at the function were Mahesh Candolkar (president, Goa Chess Association), Ashesh Keni (secretary, Goa Chess Association), Sagar Sakordekar (president, Ponda Taluka Chess Association), Amogh Namshiker (secretary, Ponda Taluka Chess Association), Kunal Mangeshkar (sports secretary, Mangirish Youth Club), chief arbiter Arvind Mhamal and Ratnakar Pai (treasurer, Mangirish Youth Club)
Archana Tendulkar compered and Amogh Namshiker proposed vote of thanks.
