MAPUSA: Xetrapal SC had an easy outing as they drubbed Verem United SC by 4-1 margin in the GFA’s Third Division play-off Bardez Zone played at Poriat ground here on Wednesday.
Kanaya Govekar opened the flood gates for Xetrapal unit as he scored in the 15th minute with a neat placement, 1-0. Raunak Toraskar made it 2-0 in the 40th minute of play.
On crossing over Sonu Mandrekar and Raunak Toraskar netted two more goals, only to find Akash Sapre score a consolation goal for Verem United in the 80th minute.
In the next play-off match Holiday Sports Club Arpora registered a 4-3 win via the tie-breaker over Ucassaim SC to enter the semis, played at Guirim grounds.
The teams were locked in a 1-1 draw. Both the goals came in the second session of play, where Rakesh Samal scored for Arpora, while Cyprian Rodrigues leveled terms for Ucassaim unit. In the penalty shootout HC Arpora won by 3-2 margin.
