There’s always something exciting to look forward to at the Grammy’s and the 2025 edition is certainly setting the tempo with its recently announced nomination list.
Beyoncé picks up 11 new nominations, the most for any artist going into the 2025 Grammy ceremony setting a new record with 2025 Grammy Nominations, breaking out of a tie with her husband, Jay-Z. Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone are next in line with seven nods apiece, followed by Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Taylor Swift with six each.
Beyonce now has 99 total nominations (and is also the winningest artist in Grammy history with 32 trophies). Her genre-bending 2024 album ‘Cowboy Carter’, led to receiving new nominations across multiple Grammy categories, with album of the year, plus record and song of the year for lead single ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ as well as four nominations in country categories, two in pop, one in rap, and even one in Americana.
Carpenter and Roan join the elite club of artists who have been nominated in all of the Big Four categories, with both vying for best new artist plus album of the year (Short n’ Sweet and The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, respectively), record of the year (Carpenter’s “Espresso” and Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!”) and song of the year (Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” vs. “Good Luck, Babe!”).

Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar, Varijashree Venugopal to represent India at Grammys 2025
The nominees for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards includes Indian talent. This year, artistes such as Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar, Varijashree Venugopal, Radhika Vekaria, and Chandrika Tandon have received recognition.
Ricky Kej is a two-time Grammy Award winner who secured a nomination in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for his album, ‘Break of Dawn’. ‘Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn’ by sitar virtuoso and composer Anoushka Shankar, ‘Warriors of Light’ by Indian-origin artist Radhika Vekaria, and ‘Triveni’ by Chandrika Tandon, who collaborated with flautist Wouter Kellerman and cellist Eru Matsumoto on the album are also nominees in the same category.
Anoushka Shankar is nominated for another nomination for her collaboration with British musician Jacob Collier on ‘A Rock Somewhere’, which is nominated for Best Global Music Performance. This song also features Varijashree Venugopal, a Bengaluru-based vocalist and composer, who receives her first Grammy nomination. Venugopal also contributed to Ricky Kej’s ‘Break of Dawn’.
