External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Thursday that India is ready to assist efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war, reiterating New Delhi’s support for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the conflict.
Speaking alongside Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha during his visit to Kyiv, Jaishankar said India would be willing to help if its involvement could contribute to finding a way forward.

“If India can be of any help, in any manner, we are there,” Jaishankar said, according to Reuters.
India Offers Support for Peace Efforts
Jaishankar’s remarks came during his ongoing visit to Ukraine, where he is holding discussions with Ukrainian officials on bilateral relations as well as wider regional developments.
India has consistently maintained that conflicts should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. New Delhi has also stressed the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring the safety of people affected by the continuing hostilities.
During his meeting with Sybiha, the two sides also discussed attacks on commercial shipping in the Black Sea. The issue has gained significance as the continuing conflict has created risks for vessels and seafarers operating in the region.
Jaishankar’s comments are particularly significant for India, which has maintained diplomatic engagement with both Moscow and Kyiv since the war began. New Delhi has repeatedly called for negotiations and a peaceful resolution while continuing to maintain its independent position on the conflict.
Black Sea Attacks Also Discussed
The safety of commercial shipping was among the issues discussed during the talks in Kyiv. Recent attacks in the Black Sea have raised concerns over the safety of international vessels and Indian seafarers working in the region.
The latest developments have also drawn attention in India after Indian nationals were reportedly killed or injured amid the escalating attacks involving commercial vessels.
New Delhi has repeatedly highlighted the need to protect Indian citizens and seafarers caught in areas affected by the conflict.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Jaishankar is scheduled to hold bilateral consultations with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. His diplomatic engagements also include discussions with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
The visit provides an opportunity for India to discuss bilateral ties while also addressing broader developments surrounding the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
