4500 objection letters submitted to CM against land conversions at Old Goa
Residents who live in the vicinity of Old Goa are firm on their demand for a Master Plan before the Exposition
PORVORIM: The Save Old Goa Action Committee, which submitted 4,500 signatures to the Chief Minister’s office have demanded a master plan for Old Goa before the upcoming Exposition of St Francis Xavier. The committee has raised concerns over numerous illegal projects near Old Goa, a UNESCO heritage site. The memorandum and objection letters were submitted to the Chief Minister’s office regarding illegal land conversions.
“Today we have submitted 4500 signatures as part of our campaign and we have demanded for a master plan for Old Goa since a lot of projects are coming up around Old Goa, since it’s a UNESCO World heritage site. So without a master plan we will not know. Hence we require a master plan. The signatures are of people who live in the vicinity of Old Goa”
