PANJIM: Activists from across the State have renewed their strong demand for demolition of the illegal bungalow built within the heritage precints at Old Goa.

They demanded for an inquiry into the claim of forged signature by one Shaina and also decried the Old Goa Police Inspector for washing his hands off the matter which is pending before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Panjim.

The activists demanded that the Old Goa PI be kept out of the case as he failed to register an FIR despite committing forgery.

Activist Ana Gracias had filed an application before the JMFC, Panjim, praying to pass an order under section 156 of CrPC and to direct the Old Goa police to register a case under Sections 419, 420, 465 and 471 read with 34 of IPC and to monitor the investigations till filing of a chargesheet against the culprits so that the same is filed in a time-bound manner, in the interest of justice.

However, Old Goa PI Raghoba Kamat has in his submission to the JMFC, admitted that the owners have flouted all licences, permission, technical clearances, orders and approvals granted by the Village Panchayat Se-Old Goa, Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA).

PI Kamat, in his say has stated that the complaint filed by Adv Ana Gracias has been forwarded to the TCP department, for necessary action and that his name be dropped as respondent No 1 from the application filed by Gracias.
