MAPUSA: Verem United SC managed to scrape past El Shaddai SC by 2-1 margin in the GFA’s Third Division League- Bardez zone, played at Moira grounds, here, on Friday.
Yallappa S put Verem United ahead scoring in the very 3rd minute of play on entering the 18-yard box, 1-0.
On crossing ends Mohan Chawan levelled terms for El Shaddai only to find Riyaz Bapu score the winning goal for Verem United in the 89th minute of play, 2-1.
At Siolim grounds: United Club of Nerul had an easy outing as they drubbed Nerul Sports Club by 5-1 margin.
All the goals came in the second session of play. Siddharth Simepurushkar opened the account for the winners only to find Vishnu Kumarsnar level terms for Nerul colts.
However Babuso Shirvodkar made it 2-1, while Royce Gonsalves netted a hat-trick to give full points for his team.
