PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday accepted the invitation of Gomantak Bhandari Samaj (GBS), which covers 60 per cent of the Bhandari population.
Samaj claimed Kejriwal is the first Delhi Chief Minister to visit Gomantak Bhandari Samaj head office, since it was established 106 years ago.
Addressing the media persons, Samaj President Ashok Naik thanked Kejriwal on behalf of entire community and said, “Arvind Kejriwal’s performance in Delhi is commendable and we hope that if the party is elected in Goa, Goa will be developed as fast as Delhi,”
"We believe that his party will work hard to bring change in the Goa's infrastructure, education and health sector. He is the man of word and will fulfil all the promises he has made to Goans," added Naik.
Naik said that he had discussed with Kejriwal and the latter has promised that AAP will work for the betterment of Bhandari community and OBC.
Speaking on the occasion, Kejriwal said that he has not come as national convenor nor as the Chief Minister but as a common man and younger brother to the people.
"The kind of good work Delhites has been witnessing, Bhandari Samaj wants such type of change in Goa. They have raised a lot of issues with us. We will think on the raised issues and will work towards it," said Kejriwal.
