PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday visited Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, where he met the Banastarim accident victims.

The Chief Minister's Office informed that Sawant met Shankar Halarnkar, Vanita Bhandari and Raj Majgaonkar, who sustained grievous injuries in the horrific accident and took update on their health status from GMC Medical Superintendent Dr Rajesh Patil.

It is pertinent to note that Halarnkar underwent ‘cervical spine’ surgery on Thursday for the neck injuries sustained when he was knocked down by the killer Mercedes in which Paresh Sawardekar has been arrested.

Second victim, Vanita Bhandari is undergoing treatment in the medical ICU in Super Speciality Block. Raj Majgaonkar, who suffered a forehead injury in the accident, is likely to be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days.
