Panjim: NGO Goencho Avaaz has demanded that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar come clean on the ongoing controversy into the Rafale deal. “The whole country and perhaps people across the world are watching the shady aspects of the Rafale deal unfolding in India. There is a big question mark on the entire deal. But Goencho Avaaz strongly feels the need for the then Raksha Mantri Manohar Parrikar to come clean on his role,” Co-convener Viriato Fernandes said at a press conference on Monday. The NGO has listed out 15 questions for the CM claiming that he should not only focus on preparing long speeches for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections but answer the pertinent queries surrounding the controversy. “We know that you are now focusing only on long speeches for Lok Sabha elections despite your poor health. If you are able to do that, we are sure you can answer the questions too raised by us not just for Goa but for Indians to know, failing which Indians and Goans would treat you as the prime co-accused in this Rafale crony capitalist deal,” he alleged with co-convener SwapneshSherlekar and Roshan Mathais who were among other NGO members also present to address the media nodded in agreement. While addressing the booth convention in presence of BJP National President Amit Shah, Parrikar had said he is reserving his speeches for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Some of their queries for the CM included about the cancellation of the deal to procure 126 aircrafts, if he suspected corruption into the deal and if he indeed suspected corruption then why did he drop anti-corruption clauses in the new deal, how did he arrive at the final figure of 36 aircraft instead of 126, whether he ensured that India remained at the mercy of Dassault and Reliance, etc.
