Crackdown on touts intensifies, 92 cases filed in October

PANJIM: In an intensified crackdown on touts, the men-in-khaki registered 92 cases across North Goa in October this year.

The statement from the office of North Goa Superintendent of Police, Akshat Kaushal highlighted that the Calangute Police led the operation with 84 cases, followed by Panjim Police (four), Anjuna and Mopa Airport police (2 cases each).

“In a bid to safeguard the interests of tourists visiting Goa, particularly Calangute beach, the police stations concerned have taken stringent action against touts and illegal agents in October this year,” the statement declared.

“This drive aims to ensure that every tourist leaves Calangute with fond memories, free from the nuisance of illegal activities. The police are committed to maintaining law and order and making their jurisdiction a safe and enjoyable destination,” the statement added.
