DAY THREE: Pilgao Farmers stand their ground; refuse to allow trucks
Farmers have erected a wooden fence and a tent on the mud road. The mining dust has destroyed their fields and ravaged the stream water.
BICHOLIM: The farmers of Pilgao stood firm in their protest and continued blocking the road for the third day. The road is passing though their fields thus denying them their source of living. They argued that some famers were given jobs by the mining company, but these workers have been retrenched by Vedanta.
