Defectors’ Anniversary- Margao Congress block to remind Goans about the cancer in Goan politics

MARGAO: Margao Congress, block will observe September 14, the day Margao MLA Digamber Kamat and 7 other Congress MLAs defected to the BJP, with a silent assembly at the Lohia Maidan Margao. Congressman Savio Coutinho recalled how media had exposed Kamat on 6th September 2022 that he was going to New Delhi to meet BJP leaders based on his boarding pass and how Kamat had allegedly abused the media.

They will wear black bands to denounce the defectors and defections. Kamat’s defection had severely dented the BJP votes in the Parliamentary Election in Margao, Coutinho said.

Savio Coutinho refreshes memories on how Margao MLA Digamber Kamat abused the media for exposing his shoddy deals prior to his defection, which he so confidently lied was untrue. Based on the boarding pass that got into the hands of the media, reports were published about his visit to Delhi to meet BJP central leaders to finalize his leap into the BJP, as local leadership had been opposing his entry, Coutinho recalled.

Adv. Snehal Onskar lamented over the fact that the Margao MLA is desperately indulging into harrassment of people who don't support him. He uses government officials to harass people by blocking their jobs, and making them to approach himself to get them completed

Lincoln Gomes appealed to all Goan youth and seniors to shun such defectors by voting wisely during the next assembly elections, and called on everyone to join in on 14th September at the Lohia Maidan.
