PANJIM: The Directorate of Education has made it mandatory for government-aided schools to post advertisements for teaching and non-teaching positions on the Directorate’s media portal, where school-related activities are published.

“This shall be a mandatory requirement for granting approval for appointments to the said posts,” states the circular dated October 3,2024 issued in this regard by the Director of Education Shailesh Sinai Zingde.

Through the circular, the Directorate of Education has instructed all government-aided primary, secondary, higher secondary schools and special schools to upload a copy of the advertisements for teaching and non-teaching posts as per the NOCs granted by the office. This shall be a mandatory requirement in grating approvals for the appointment to the said post.

Reacting to the circular, Goa School Managements’ Association Action Committee convenor Prashant Naik said that the managements had no issue about posting advertisements on the directorate’s medial portal. But the Directorate of Education should consider the genuine request of the school managements that whenever they deserve a full-time post of a teacher, it should not give contract basis appointments. Moreover some “preferred managements” are given NOCs to fill posts on regular basis.
