Goa University postponed Remote Sensing faculty interviews after Goa Forward gherao

PANJIM: The Goa University has postponed the remote sensing faculty interviews after Goa Forward gheraeod the Vice Chancellor on the question of domicile and knowledge of Konkani criteria, for the post. Alleging that people from Kerala were being recruited, Goa Forward demanded that the interviews for post of remote sensing faculty scheduled for Friday be cancelled. They insisted that youth from Goa be selected. This is not Kerala University, Goa Forward said.

Goa Forward Leader Prashant Naik said we had gone to jail for setting up this university. We can understand initially that faculty from outside was taken, but now Goan youth should be given opportunity. SC/ST posts were dropped from the advertisement. Outsiders are being taken and Goa University standards are falling, Naik said.
