PANJIM: The Theodore family, whose two family members were brutally assaulted by a gang of 20 bouncers at Chinvar, Anjuna along with AAP MLA Venzy Viegas met Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar, IPS and sought security.

The family members complained that they were allegedly forced out of their ancestral property by 20 bouncers, leading to injuries to two individuals on November 7.

“My only prayer is security, security to life, to my husband and my son. My husband will undergo surgery. Once they are discharged I don’t know where I will be,” said Maria Theodore.

Condemning the assault, MLA Viegas said that assailants had no fear of Goa police and were emboldened. He said Goans are not safe and living in fear in their own land.

Viegas said that the DGP has assured the family to provide security till the time she is in Goa, and that necessary action would be taken against the assailants, who are still at large.
