CALANGUTE: SP (North) Akshat Kaushal along with senior police officers on Wednesday held a co-ordination meeting with owners of clubs and restaurants from Tito's lane, Baga, in the wake of the violent assault by bouncers on some locals recently.

“It was basically a co-ordination meeting regarding any problems they have from the point of view of security to ensure that there are no untoward incidents in this area. We have told them that no one should take law into their hands. This is the beginning of the tourist season and we want to ensure that all tourists coming to Goa have a peaceful time,” SP Kaushal said.

Around 20 club owners and managers attended the meeting along with SDPO Porvorim Vishwesh Karpe and PI Rahul Parab.

The club owners and managers were directed to follow Noise Pollution Act and not to play loud music beyond stipulated time. They were also advised to brief their staff to deal with tourists visiting their place in proper manner and not to misbehave with them so that a safe and enjoyable environment is created for tourists visiting Goa.

They were advised to submit verification forms of all the staff working in their establishment; to enhance CCTV surveillance covering entire premises; not to allow illegal activities in their premises and in case they notice anyone getting involved in such activities inform Police immediately.

The cops directed the club owner to keep touts at bay and advised them to inform police in case of any situation wherein police help is required.
