MAPUSA: Goyche Fudle Pilge Khatir (GFPK) on Thursday said that the people of North Goa are now getting united like South Goa and together they will save the State for future generations.

GFPK members along with villagers from Tivim visited the site sold to establish World Peace University. The villagers said that only 45 members of the Tivim comunidade had signed for the resolution to lease/sell the land admeasuring 6.33 lakh square metres.

Savio Mascarenhas and Amancio Fernandes stressed that this was their ancestral Comunidade land and should be preserved for posterity. Jack informed that they managed to get the documents and were surprised at the alleged irregularities taken place in the Comunidade.

Godfrey D’Lima asked why was the treasurer's name was not mentioned in the list of signatures.

Mollie Da Gama Silva pointed out the Code of Comunidades was violated. “How can a resolution be passed with just 45 members when there were 1,000 Gauncars present,” Sivla asked.

Stating that they were not against education, Mollie suggested that institutions such as a Goan Fisheries or an an agricultural college can be built instead of giving land to non-Goan institutions.
