Multilingual literature festival calls 
for upholding moral values

PANJIM: Konkani Shanti Publications (KSP) organised a multilingual literature festival on the theme Morality is freedom in the city on Sunday.

The festival included speeches by guest speakers on the morality is freedom theme, multilingual 'Kavi Sammelan, felicitation of poets and writers and poetry book release consisting of a collection of poems on the theme by various poets across Goa.

Nazrana Darvesh, Programme Convenor highlighted the downfall of moral values in society and presented statistics on how growing immorality trend is destroying family and social structure.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Prakash Parienkar, Vice Dean, Shenoi Goembab School of Languages and Literature, enlightened the audience with experiences from his life stating how we should value the hard earned money of our parents and spend it on just causes and not for self destruction.

He insisted on uplifting the morals taught by elders and congratulated (KSP) for organising such a program of topics for reformation of society.

N Shivdas, eminent writer, poet and social activist, said such platforms provide writers and poets to express their feelings and raise issues of society for betterment.

Foziya Rabab, eminent Urdu poet, brought to notice that freedom without Morality is destructive and how the social media and new technologies can create truth to false and vice versa to create chaos in society

Asif Hussain, Chairman, Centre for Study of Philosophy and Humanities, shared the need for divine guidance to maintain morality standards. Various poets across the State presented their poems on the theme.
