New power project worth Rs 27 cr to illuminate Mormugao

VASCO: The Electricity Department has designed additional Rs 27 crore project to further strengthen the power infrastructure in Mormugao constituency.

This was informed by Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar during the inauguration of an upgraded 220 KVA transformer at Sada on Saturday. This transformer was one of 25 new upgraded transformers installed across the constituency as part of a strategic effort to enhance electricity distribution and reliability and reduce power outages, it was informed.

The newly upgraded transformers aim to address frequent outages and voltage issues, and provide relief to residents who werefrustrated with erratic power supply for last few years.

Similarly, Vasco MLA Krishna ‘Daji’ Salkar, inaugurated two newly upgraded transformers at Mangor Hill on Saturday.

Salkar said that the upgraded transformers are specifically designed to manage the increased electricity demand due to rapid residential expansion in Mangor areas. The new transformers will also prevent overloading issues and ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply for residents.
