MARGAO: In another dramatic chase, the Coastal Security Police with the help of Pele’s speed boat nabbed a Malpe, Karnataka trawler which was plundering fish of Benaulim coast on Wednesday.

The coastal police do not have boats to chase the marauding trawlers from Malpe, Karnataka. The huge Malpe trawler which was boarded by Coastal Police was found to be loaded with fish like kingfish, mackerels and Tuna caught in

Goan waters.

Francis Fernandes alias Pele recalled that the Chief Minister had said, Coastal Police can use Pele’s speed boat and a fine of Rs 10 lakh will be imposed once the due procudure is completed.

The Coastal Police, who chased and caught the Malpe trawler, were not only using Pele’s speed boat, but also using Pele’s life jackets. The Malpe trawler was caught with a huge catch of fish after a dramatic chase. Pele then went to the Malpe trawler and showed huge fish catch from Goan waters.

The Malpe trawler was seized by Betul Coastal Security PI Theron D’Costa and his team along with Pele and other fishermen from Benaulim.

This is the third trawler from Malpe seized by the Coastal Security police. A few days back, two trawlers fromM were seized for fishing into Goan water and both the trawlers were brought to the Panjim jetty.
