VASCO: Mormugao Municipal Councillor Saifullah Khan and residents from the containment zone have demanded for a thorough and uninterrupted testing of people from the containment zone.
They also demanded for quicker supply of essential items at the doorstep. Similarly, they hope that emergency facilities such as fire tender, ambulance etc won’t be delayed.
Khan appealed to the Vasco MLA and Chief Minister to depute at least five teams of medical practitioners at the containment zone to expedite the testing process.
He also referred to the CM’s promise of delivering essential supplies to the households. “But still date, it is yet to reach these houses. I also tried calling the Municipal Chief Officer but his number was unreachable. Grocery supply should be done properly and quickly so that people who are out of stock, do not try and go out of the containment zone as people are suffering a lot,” Khan added.
He added that on Friday evening, few people faced health issues such as chest pain etc but it took them three hours to reach the doctor and that much later an ambulance was arranged for.
“Such a situation should not arise therefore an ambulance is needed here throughout" he added.
“There is also a need to keep a fire tender at the containment zone as Mangor is a big area and during any emergency situation, it can get chaotic, “ said Khan.
