Govt launches online portal to  install solar rooftop panels

PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday launched the Solar Rooftop Online Portal developed by the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) in association with the Department of New and Renewable Energy and the Electricity Department at the Assembly Complex, Porvorim.

Speaking on the occasion, Sawant said that entire process of application, processing of application, installation of solar project and the release of subsidy will be done online thought the portal. The user friendly portal will also enable consumer to determine the requirement of solar panels for desired result using the details available in the monthly electricity bill

The Chief Minister congratulated Aha Solar Company of Ahmedabad, Gujarat for the development and training the GEDA personnel to use the portal. “I am sure the portal will be useful to people and organisations who shall adopt rooftop solar power generation,” Sawant said. 

The portal is available at www.goa.solar.in and the interested consumers can use this portal to apply online. There is no need to submit hard copies of the documents. Dashboard is provided to the applicants to check the status of the application and subsidy. The applicants will also receive SMS and email at each stage of processing of the application and details of quantum (Kwp) of solar power that can be generated within the premise along with the subsidy to be provided by the government.

The empanelled Solar Installers of GEDA along with the concerned staff of the Electricity Department has been well trained to use the portal. All necessary help document for the applicants is provided in the Portal. The applicant can also take assistance from GEDA or any of the empanelled Solar installer.
