The polling dates for Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections have been announced. Maharashtra will be voting in a single phase on November 20.

Jharkhand on the other hand will be voting in two phases i.e on November 13th and November 20th.

The counting of votes for both States will be help on November 23.

One of the youngest States in India Jharkhand has seen a lot of political ups and downs in the recent times. Currently, Jharkhand has a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress alliance. The polling for the 81 seats in the tribal dominated state will be held in two phases. Hemant Soren had won an emphatic 30 seats which had paved the way for him to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of the State in the 2019 Assembly elections.

Maharashtra with its 288 Assembly seats also goes for poll on November 20. The Maharashtra election is considered to be one of the most awaited election in the country. The State is currently ruled by the Mahayuti government comprising of Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Mahayuti will be battling against he Mahavikas Aghadi in the forthcoming elections.
