PANJIM: Deepashri Sawant Gauns, accused of defrauding a woman from Usgao for Rs 15 lakh with the promise of a government job, has been arrested by Ponda police on Monday. Pooja Naik, the Queen Pin figure in the job scam was remanded in police custody on 30 October. So far 12 persons have been arrested in the scam. While most have asked for a judicial inquiry, and alleged that Pooja is linked to the ministers and CM, Pramod Sawant on Monday stated that no one will be spared.
Pooja Naik was arrested on October 29, who allegedly defrauded a Curti-based job aspirant of Rs 14 lakh. Deepashri Sawant Gauns, accused of defrauding a woman from Usgao for Rs 15 lakh has been arrested on Monday.
Along with Pooja, her accomplice Ajit Shashikant Satarkar, 49, a resident of Pisgal-Priol was also arrested.
Police seized five cars linked to Naik’s cash trail.
Tragically, a 51-year-old government employee Shridhar Satarkar who was quizzed in the case died by suicide by hanging at Mardol on November 2.
