MARGAO: Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) candidates have appealed to the Director of Technical Education (DTE) to postpone the examination scheduled be held on July 4 and 5 due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in the State.

The DTE is in the process to confirm these dates.

In a letter to the DTE office, students made a humble appeal to postpone the upcoming Goa Common Entrance Test 2020 considering the welfare and the safety of the candidates and their families.

“Social distancing” has not been able to contain the rapid spread of the pandemic. The above stated plea is supported with an online petition which has got a big response," said Leo Barros, a candidate.

"The petition has student signatories supporting the cause along with our parents, who are very much concerned," Leo said.
