The purpose of the demonstration was to increase public awareness of noise pollution, an issue the neighborhood has been battling against EDM events.

According to Dr Inacio, the Anjuna panchayat was urged in a memorandum to refrain from approving such events in the village. ’We have the right to freedom of expression under Article 18 of the Indian Constitution, and we must speak out against these events’, Dr. Inacio stated.
Banners with slogans like "No EDM" were carried by the group gathered outside the church. To keep an eye on the situation, police were also sent to the area. The villagers claimed that traffic congestion, dust pollution, and noise pollution affect everyone.

During its meeting on Sunday, the Anjuna comunidade authorized three events: a music concert and expo by Spark Creations and Entertainments, as well as "TVS Motosol 2024," which was suggested by Spectrum Events and Hospitality Services. Nevertheless, two additional proposals pertaining to the event were turned down.

A plan for a futsal field and other sports facilities on the community's property was also unanimously approved.  A significant number of community members attended the meeting, which also included talks about the income and expenditure budget for 2024–2025.  Gãoncars demanded that all properties be mapped and surveyed and expressed concern about unauthorized encroachments on comunidade land.
