SANCOALE: The Sancoale Panchayat gets legal opinion "not to interfere" with Bhutani construction license. One lawyer points to PIL in High Court and advises no action. Other lawyer gives clean chit to bhutani saying they have all permissions. Sancoale Panchayat held a special meeting to discuss the construction licence issued to Bhutani Infra on Tuesday. Opposition members claim the meeting was incomplete, citing an unsigned legal opinion not read by the secretary. However, the ruling panel, led by Dy Sarpanch Derick Vales, stated the meeting ended successfully.
Panchayat Member Tulsidas Naik said," Today we discussed the illegal legal opinion, because the panchayat has not taken any resolution to take legal opinion. On 18th October there were only 5 members, after that two Opposition member withdrew from the meeting. No resolution was passed to take legal opinion. Today they have got a legal opinion from Adv Amey Prabhudesai. There is no signature of Amey Prabhudesai and no date on the legal opinion," he added.
"We took a decision that the matter is sub judice and we will wait for the High Court order. Meanwhile, we will send a notice to the Town and Country Planning Department and the Planning and Development Authority." Derick Vales, Deputy Sarpanch VP Sancoale, told media.
