Installing sensor toilets at the jetty—have you gone insane? "Do you think that this is a five-star hotel for laborers?

Goa Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant

Sawant, rejected the fisheries department's assertion that the sensor based restrooms were installed by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation.
He gave the South Goa Collector instructions to install bio-toilets using the disaster management fund and to swap out the sensor toilets for regular ones. To guarantee that the workers have access to sufficient sanitary facilities, he underlined the necessity of installing bio-toilets on the jetty.

Moreover, Sawant maintained that the trawler owners, not the employees, should pay for the use of the restrooms. In addition, he demanded that the trawler owners pay for the facility cleaning.
Curz Silva, the MLA for Velim, had earlier given the Chief Minister a memorandum outlining his requests for the maintenance of the Cutbona Jetty. Sawant promised to deal with the concerns brought up.
Silva conveyed his satisfaction regarding the directives issued and the visit by the Chief Minister. "I have been providing the Chief Minister with daily updates regarding the situation, and he has indicated his wish to personally visit the jetty." Majority of the concerns raised have been addressed, according to Silva.

Silva stated that Sawant has directed the submission of a fresh proposal for the training wall in order to address the primary issue of sand deposition at the river mouth. "Most trawlers will be able to stay out at sea more effectively if this issue is addressed," he  mentioned.
