Parag Raikar had said that app based taxi driver permit says they can pick up passengers from anywhere; questions 'Union Fee'

COLVA:  Taxi drivers from South Goa gathered in large numbers at the Colva Police Station and filed a complaint against Parag Raikar. They told the Police Inspector that in a viral social media post, Parag has alleged that taxi operators drink and drive. He has also spoken against the Sarpanch and MLA. They demanded that an FIR be filed against him and he be brought to the police station or else they will not leave the police station.

Parag Raikar had said that taxi drivers have a right to do business everywhere. Benaulim is not in Pakistan, he said. He cited an instance where an app based taxi driver was asked to pay 'Union fees'  to go to a five star hotel. He demanded answers to whom the union fee charged was going -- to the sarpanch or to the local MLA. He also said police should check the tourist taxi drivers for drunken driving.
