CALANGUTE: The Calangute Police have arrested two persons for allegedly molesting a female tourist in Calangute road. The accused are identified as Prem Kumar Pandey from Jaipur and Krishna Bhaudev Singh from Agra.

The Calangute police on Sunday arrested two persons on the charge of molesting a female tourist at Calangute road. The accused - Prem Kumar Pandey is 30 years of age and Krishna Bhaudev Singh is 24.

Both are natives of Uttar Pradesh and are presently residing at Candolim.

Reports suggest that a group of girls were going home in the wee hours of Sunday morning after a dandiya perfornace, when the accused stopped their car and asked the girl to take a lift.

When the girls refused, the accused came out of the car and caught hold of one of the girls and started dragging her into the car.

Based on a complaint of molestation, an FIR was lodged and a case under sections 74, 75, 78, 79 and 115(2) read with 3(5) BNS 2023 has been registered against them at Calangute PS.

The police stated that probe is underway and more arrests are likely in this connection.
