A 15-year-old girl, who was reported missing on Friday, May 17, has been found safe. However, the circumstances surrounding her disappearance took a surprising turn as it was revealed that the alleged abductor is also a minor.

The ordeal began on Friday evening when the girl vanished, prompting her mother to rush to the Mapusa police station to file a missing person’s report. Following intensive investigations, authorities traced the girl's whereabouts to a hotel in Calangute.

Acting swiftly on the information, police officers descended upon the Calangute hotel on Saturday morning. There, they successfully rescued the girl and apprehended the young boy accompanying her.

Underlining the severity of the situation, legal actions have been initiated against the boy under Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act and Section 363 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Both the boy and the girl were subsequently escorted to a remand home following procedural formalities.

Additionally, as part of due process, the pair was subjected to medical examinations at the Goa Medical College (GMC) in Bambolim. Authorities await the results of these examinations to determine further courses of action in the case.
