PANJIM: The BJP has already started an informal exercise of Cabinet reshuffle. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on two occasion has promised two birthday boys, he has good news for them without disclosing what the good news is. The good news has been announced mainly for those who switched from the Congress to the BJP after the 2022 Goa Assembly elections.

CM made these announcements while attending the birthday celebrations of Calangute MLA Michael Lobo and Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, who switched parties to join the BJP along with 6 others. Aleixo Sequeira who switched along with the group has already been rewarded with a ministry.

Now, sources disclosed that the BJP is identifying ministers who are to be dropped and those who are to be included. It is learnt that this was discussed at the meeting of MLAs at Porvorim on Monday.

It was disclosed an informal exercise has started for cabinet reshuffle within the BJP. The discussion included which ministers are to be dropped and which are to be included.

Sources say there are speculations that at least three ministers will face the axe. That means that Pramod Sawant will have three new minister post the budget session.

Chief Minister Sawant when asked about Cabinet reshuffle during post cabinet briefing said, “As of now the focus is only on the Assembly session. No cabinet reshuffle will happen. We have focused only on the Assembly session. We have focused only on this session.”
