Dalgado Konknni Akademi Announces Annual Awards Recognizing Contributions to Romi Konkani Development

The Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) unveiled its prestigious annual awards, set to honor individuals central in advancing Konkani in Roman script. Scheduled for December 16th at 4 PM, the Ravindra Bhavan Margao will serve as the venue for this momentous event. The accolades aim to commend the outstanding efforts of literary figures, cultural and heritage activists, budding talents, institutions, and journalists within the realm of Romi Konkani literature.

Annie Fernandes will be honored with the Berta Menezes Ostori Puraskar (Bertha Menezes Women's Award), highlighting the significance of women's contributions in this domain.

Among the esteemed recipients, Anthony Menezes will be conferred with the Dalgado Sahityik Puraskar (Dalgado Literature Award), while C.D. D’Silva will be honored with the Dalado Sonskrutik Puraskar (Dalgado Cultural Award). The Dalgado Romi Konknni Seva Puraskar (Dalgado Roman Konkani Service Award) will be bestowed upon Anthony Miranda, and Marcos Gonsalves will be presented with the Fr. Freddy J. Da Costa Potrkarita Puraskar (Fr. Freddy J. Da Costa Journalism Award).

Additionally, the Prabhakar Tendulkar Romi Konknni Sonstha Puraskar (Prabhakar Tendulkar Roman Konkani Association Award) will be granted to Machi Mogi Santa Cruz. Agostinho D’Cruz will be celebrated with the Joel D'Souza Daiz Puraskar (Joel D'Souza Heritage Award), while Cialini Fernandes will receive the Dalgado Tornatto Puraskar (Dalgado Youth Award).
