Pernem Police conducted a raid near the Government Indoor Stadium in Sawalwada, Pernem, Goa on Monday. Acting on specific and reliable information, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Pernem, along with the staff of Pernem Police Station, apprehended Sonu, aged 29, son of Mustakim Tailer, residing at Malpem Virnoda in Pernem, Goa, and a native of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
During the raid, accused was found in possession of approximately 1.240 kilograms of suspected narcotic drugs, identified as Ganja. This seizure, valued at approximately Rs. 1,25,000, marks a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the region. The offence has been registered under Pernem Police Station Crime No. 31/2024, under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The operation carried out by Pernem Police Inspector Sachin B. Lokre, along with PSI Navneet Goltekar, and was supported by the diligent efforts of Head Constable Tirtharaj Mhamal, and Police Constables Premnath Sawal Desai, Sachin Halarnkar, Nikhil Gawas, Shankar Jalmi, and Lady Police Constable Sidhi Gaonkar, all from Pernem Police Station.
The successful execution of the raid was made possible under the guidance and supervision of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Pernem, Jivba G. Dalvi, and Superintendent of Police (North), Porvorim, Akshat Kaushal, IPS.
